Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendrick.
Be sure to drop off your new unwrapped toy at Post 9662. We will be sure to get it to the Marines so that it can be delivered to a deserving child this holiday season!!
November 30th (Saturday) There will be a holiday Tea at the Post from 10 am to 12 pm hosted by the Auxiliary! All Auxiliary members are invited and encouraged to attend and bring a friend or two.

November 11th (Monday) Post and Auxiliary Poppy Distribution Project at Hy-Vee North (7am) and Sam’s Club (10am). 2 hour shifts. Sign-up sheets are at the Post or call Commander Jim!
November 9th (Saturday) there will be a Veteran’s Day Program at 11:00 at the Post with lunch to follow. Elaine Podnar will be presenting the Program. Stop into the Post to join in the fellowship! Thanks to all of our Veterans for their service.
During the October monthly Auxiliary meeting, there was a Dues Increase Topic for Annual Auxiliary members (for the 2020-2021 Auxiliary year). It was voted on and approved! Dues for next year (starting July 1, 2020) will be $15.00. They will remain at $12.00 for 2019-2020.

VFW Auxiliary 9662 honored the Post members on their 70th Anniversary with a dinner, program and recognition certificates from Governor Reynolds and National Commander William J Schmitz organized by Elaine Podnar and her committee.

As you know, our Post was instituted on May 17, 1949 – 70 years ago! To commemorate this special milestone, we are inviting you to join us for a complimentary dinner on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. (You may bring a guest if you like, but a $5.00 charge will be assessed to them for the dinner!)
More information will be coming about how to R.S.V.P. to this event. We just wanted you to get it on your calendars early!!
